Someone said, "How about a short essay on urea?"

So what do I know about "urea"? Actually, very little so it may be best for me to start by copying over some of the urea quotes I have collected over the years.

`UREA QUOTES
BEDDOE: The last part of the equation [urea] is made up of two numbers: the nitrate nitrogen number on top the ammonia nitrogen number below. They represent nitrogen oxide and nitrogen sulfate, as found in the urine.
NOTE: At one point in his textbook Dr. Beddoe speaks of agricultural urea which is correctly composed of ammonia & carbon dioxide.
CHALLEN: People with high ureas will complain about insomnia.
CHALLEN: The stronger the ammonia odor is in the urine, then the higher the urea numbers are.
CHALLEN: If the urea level suddenly drops below 12, it means that the person is burning too much energy. The ureas must stay at 13 or greater to gain energy, unless all other numbers are in order.
CLASS 1-5: You need to understand the difference in "urea" and "uric acid." Uric acid arises because of the acetic factor in the urine, and urea is undigested proteins. They are two different things entirely and don't get them confused. Uric acid is the acetic acid that's in the system which has no direct bearing whatsoever on the ureas. For instance urine that has high ureas smells like ammonia, and there's a lot of foam in it when a man urinates into water. The other, the uric acid, for instance you have burning when you urinate and that's uric acid, that's the acetic acid, two different things altogether.
CLASS 1-5: The result may be vascular collapse and sudden death from either a pectoris or angina heart attack, or both of them at the same time.  High ureas is what the medical profession call uremic poisoning and crib death is caused because of the high ureas.
CLASS 1-5: Hate switches off your digestion and prevents your body from getting the minerals from your food.  Now if there are plenty of calciums, or almost enough calciums, then any loss of energy due to an increase in the total ureas can come about because of emotional causes like hate, revenge, worry, or not living the golden rule.
CLASS 1-5: The high nitrate form of urea says "too much cold cut meats" and he ought to avoid all those canned, high nitrate, cold meats.
CLASS 1-5: The pHs and ureas show the baby is on a diet that is too heavy for it, the parents may be giving him meats and snack foods, or if the mother is still breast-feeding him, then her diet may be wrong and causing problems for her baby.  It is possible for high ureas at this age to quite often come from what the mother has been eating and passing the ureas right on to the nursing child, and when the child's urea gets to 30 then another "unexplained" crib death occurs.
CLASS 1-5: ...vitamin E is to make sure their blood stays thin enough so their heart will not beat too hard trying to get rid of the ureas and the excess amount of delta and omega cells that are being thrown out during repair.
CLOD: Urea is in two forms-nitrate nitrogen and ammoniacal nitrogen.
CLOD: A pectoris heart attack is brought about because the system has not thrown out the delta cells, and the salt in the blood has broken the cell down to a urea.
CLOD: Some orange juices are diluted with water and have a preservative that makes it dangerous to drink for people with a high cholesterol or a high urea. It is always safer to drink fresh orange juice.
DAVIS: Now do you see the "unexplained" cause of "crib deaths?" Check the urea level and you will always find it around 30. The poor little baby's heart was pounding away so hard that it just couldn't take it anymore.\

--------end quotes--------

Before saying anything, it is best to always remember that no number is perfect unless ALL numbers are perfect.  It is so easy for beginners to forget that as they try to focus on, say, urine pH. For instance, someone new to RBTI may fiddle while trying to get their urine Brix near the desired 1.5 while they are having a fatal heart attack because their urea is 28-30. Sigh!

If you read the above quotes, you should be able to figure out that "urea" is a combination of the urine nitrate nitrogen value plus the urine ammoniacal value. 2+2 equals 4, 3+3 equals 6, 11+14 equals 25, etc.

What does it signify? I like to think of excessive urea as indicating an unwanted thickening of the blood. The solution is to drink adequate distilled water to wash the excess right out of the body. And, yes, if the urea is in the heart attack zone then you should consider it an emergency---do absolutely nothing until you have consumed enough water to be sure the number is down to 20 or less. Such a case could not be a more fitting model for Reams' constant admonishment to "go by the numbers."

OK, we are out of the danger zone.  Just how far down should we "push" the urea numbers? Perfect is 3 nitrate and 3 ammonia, but that is not a good thing until ALL the other numbers are perfect (do I hear an echo?). Interestingly enough, Reams found a direct correlation between available potassium in the bloodstream and the urea result. So is potassium important? Yes, if you further your study you will find that the brain is richer in potassium than any other organ. Should you short the brain's need for potassium, you will find yourself forgetful. Stay on that path long enough and it ultimately leads to brains lesions or tumors. Is that not an ugly thought?

However, the person who keeps their other numbers solidly on target, called "staying in the healing range," will find their body rebuilding such that the total urea can gradually reduce until it reaches 3 over 3 ("perfect" numbers). This may take months or years. According to Reams, such a re-built body will easily gain more energy than it expends. That body will enjoy perfect health. That, my friend, is as good as it gets.

So that is my short essay on urea.  I always urge readers to consult with their teacher to fully expand the concept.  Families have been wrecked by a member keeling over in the prime of life.  And every family that has suffered a crib death will never fully recover. Reams discovered this connection when he autopsied a goat who had eaten some nitrate fertilizer from a bucket. When he saw the ruptured heart, he knew he had something we all need to understand. It may be decades or centuries before medical science adopts Reams' insight, but there is no need for you to wait that long and run the risk of a sudden death.
